--AWD BREEDING PROGRAM-- By ~WiseTrooperKennels

This, my friends, is the AWD Breeding Program. This is where we can expand the AWD community and increase the chances of finding a well cared for AWD on dA.
Look no further but here.
Read on.
Go ahead.

:bulletblue:Information:bulletblue:
The AWD Breeding Program is something I, myself, have set up. In this project, I shall be breeding and expanding the community of the African Wild Dog. There is so much more to this than you may think. It is the first AWD breeding program for Kennels on dA. Here, we will be breeding pure AWD's, teaching them life skills and showing the dA world what the AWD is capable of. I shall be leading this project but I am in search of people who will contribute to it. We will be starting off from scratch, 2 male AWD's and 2 females.. We will breed 2 litters, 4-6 AWD pups per litter. I will keep perhaps the first half of the litter, then adopt the others out. But, hear me now. I will not adopt AWD's out to just anyone, if you want to adopt, you must contribute to the project, meaning you will increase chances of more AWD's on dA, you will register your AWD and become part of the community, also, I need to keep track of every AWD part of the project, and ALL the pups I adopt out will be part of the project, not just for the fun of it. We will also be holding competition type things every couple of months, maybe once every two months. But, these aren't just any competitions, we are aiming for a goal here.. There will be three different types of competitions you may enter your AWD/AWD's in. A hunting one, a memory/intelligence one and an agility one (this is not like a domestic dog's agility contest).

:bulletgreen:Answered thoughts:bulletgreen:
This is where we answer questions which may be asked or have already gone through your mind after reading anything from the information. Then we will give more information but please read this before you ask us questions. Thank you.

-"Who is the leader or 'captain' of this project?"
I, ~WiseTrooperKennels am. My name is Lola if you want to call me that. I was the creator of this project.

-"How do I contribute or adopt an AWD from you?"
I will put some more information below on how to contribute and, I will make litters and will sell some pups, that is where you will adopt.

-"When I adopt, will be it be points or draw-to-adopt?"
Both, it depends on the pup. We shall see.

-"How many AWD's can I have?"
As many as you can either afford or take care of, if you have too many, and can't keep them, but they have been part of the project, then either give them back to me or talk to me and we will figure something out. But don't sell them off without informing me first.

-"Can I create my own?"
Well, if you create your own, you must register them, but before you do, could you ask me? I'm still a bit unsure.

-"What are the competitions about?"
I will give more information below.

-"How much will you be selling off your AWD pups for?"
Through points, they won't be cheap. But cheaper than usual because this is a project and we need a large amount of contributers.

-"If I have a problem who do I speak to?"
Ask me! I don't bite! Haha, no really. If you need to ask a question don't feel afraid to ask.

:bulletgreen: I will accept any questions that need answering, I will happily answer you with as much information as you need or ask for.

:bulletred:Competitions:bulletred:
Here I will give you all the information about every single AWD competition we will be holding.

:bulletred: 'Hunting Round'- The hunting round is basically a competition showing skill and agility. It consists of a group of AWD's going out on a hunt, in a certain place with a certain prey and are given a certain time. The more skill and agility, and better timing, the more points and better results. For each group, you will be allowed to enter no more than 10 and no less than 5. They must work in a group they have lived with and know, not being placed with random dogs they don't know.
:bulletred: "How intelligent is your AWD?"- This competition is based on intelligence and memory. People say dogs have bad memory and aren't intelligent, the Husky and the Collie have proved us wrong. The AWD has learned to hunt, live in a pack and survive, even imitate and learn. So why not give them a chance? Your AWD participant is given 3 stages to get past. The first stage is Skill. They are given a certain time, are put in a room and are expected to find an object in which is hidden. If they find it they are part the first stage. Second stage is Memory. They have to look at an object or toy they have never seen before for 60 seconds, then are put into a room full of objects or toys to find the toy. The toy is hidden in an avalanche of other toys, and if the AWD finds the right toy without picking up any other ones they are past the second stage. The last stage is Intelligence. Here, they will be given a task (eg. opening a can) and have to complete it. At the end they will be assessed and will be shown how many points in total they got.
:bulletred: "Agility into the wild"- Agility into the wild is a competition in which your AWD must complete the course with the best time. Like a domestic dog agility contest right? Not exactly. The obstacles will be logs and rivers, mud and bushes. Everything that may get in the way in the wild. The AWD with the best timing and less faults wins. Simple as.

:bulletyellow:Training your AWD:bulletyellow:
If you want your AWD to enter competitions from a young stage then it's best to start training early. To enter a competition your AWD must be trained. Learning from a couple of months old to be sociable is good and there are small things you can train your AWD. Your AWD can start training for agility classes at youngest 6 months old, but will not be able to compete until a 1 year old. It is best this way.
We will be holding training classes for AWD's to make the community wider, it will consist of the pup meeting other pups, playing, learning to obey ect.
It is easy. If you have any questions, just ask me.

--How to contribute and become part of the AWD community--
If you are thinking about being part of the project, you must contact me first, perhaps through note and I can talk to you about it. There will be a form to fill out and you must register your AWD into the community so I can keep track of him/her. You must age your AWD acceptably please as well.

:bulletpurple:Adopting/Adoptables:bulletpurple:
The reason I'm talking about this is, that I like to know the AWD's background, where you got them from ect. Adopting from me, is easy because I know their background. But if you got them before I'd like to know who and where from.
When you adopt from me you must realize you will be taking the AWD and registering to this community, if you don't then I will take the pup back because they were bred for this. Do not sell them off, there would be consequences and I don't like reporting people.
When I make adoptables, there will most deffinetly be draw-to-adopt and points, but I don't expect they will be expensive or cheap either. When you are breeding an AWD for a litter of pups, before you do, you must tell me and ask me, before you sell the pups out, you must go through the people who want to buy them with me and we will work it out together. I like to know what's going on so nothing happens when I'm not looking.
If you are well known to the community and help out a lot I may give you a job, but it's not payed for.. it's more voluntary, you don't have to do it but it would be helpful. The people who help out most may also get free AWD pups for their groups.
